Rabbit Hole Media Lab
Identity, web design, and physical collateral for an Austin-based video and podcast production studio.
- Role
- Design Director
- The brief
- Give the studio an identity with the same energy and range as the work happening inside it—one that could keep expanding across screens, walls, and whatever came next without looking like every other production company.
- What changed
- A pixel-rich identity that let Rabbit Hole build new worlds across the website, studio, motion, and merch—each application distinct, but all unmistakably theirs.
- Platform
- Web, signage, merchandise & print
Always in Motion
The identity was designed to have some freedom. A palette of nine color combinations could shift from one application to the next, while the logo and typography gave everything enough consistency to still feel like Rabbit Hole.
That flexibility became especially useful in motion, where the identity could continuously change color without changing character.
Bringing Rabbit Hole Online
The website needed to do more than show off the studio. It gave potential clients a way to explore the space, understand its production capabilities and equipment, see the work being made there and, ultimately, book a session. The identity gave the whole experience a rich jumping-off point, making the site feel undeniably Rabbit Hole.
Beyond the Screen
Rabbit Hole quickly became more than a brand. It became a space. The identity spread across the studio and everything around it—posters, signage, records, apparel, notebooks and whatever else gave it another place to show up.
Rabbit Hole started as an opportunity to do something interesting with a great space and kept finding new places to go. A website became posters, posters became merch, and the identity eventually filled the studio itself.
There were, appropriately, a few rabbit holes along the way.
